Mohammad Raja’ie Khalou

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) reported the case of the University Student Mohammad Raja’ie Khalou, 26-year-old, at the time of his disappearance, from Al-Qameshli city – Al-Ashouriya neighborhood, to the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances and demanded that the Syrian authorities release him after he was arbitrarily arrested in front of As-Salam Hospital, located in Al-Qameshli city, by an Air Force Intelligence patrol on 25 June, 2008. The patrol members were wearing a military uniform and didn’t show an arrest warrant that would authorize the arrest. The Air Force Intelligence administration told his family that he is at Al-Muzza Military Airport prison in 2010. It should be noting that the Syrian authorities haven’t charged him with anything.

In 2010, his family filed a request to the military police to reveal the fate of Mohammad Raja’ie. The military police gave his family permission to visit him; however, the Air Force Intelligence administration didn’t allow them to visit him and denied that it has him after it told his family previously that he is detained.

Since the date of his disappearance, his family hasn’t gotten any information about his whereabouts.
The Syrian authorities deny that it arrested “Mohammad Raja’ie Khalou”. SNHR, as well as his family, hasn’t been able to determine his fate. His family fears that they might get arrested and tortured if they asked about him repeatedly which what happened in many cases.
