The Syrian Network for Human Rights has notified the United Nations Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions of the case of the citizen Abdul Karim Ileiwi, from al Latamena town in Hama governorate. Mr. Ileiwi, who was born in 1944, was killed in an attack by Syrian Regime forces’ fixed-wing warplanes in which they fired a missile at his home in al Latamena town on January 20, 2018. The town was under the control of factions of the Armed Opposition at the time of the incident.

As is the norm in all such cases, Syrian authorities have not confessed to killing Abdul Karim, while his family has been unable to submit any complaint about his death for fear of being persecuted by the regime security services for doing so.
