SNHR is a Primary Source in the US Department

The Bureau of Human Rights, Democracy, and Labor of the US Department of State released its annual reports on human rights practices in the world for the year 2017 on Friday, April 20, 2018. The 57-page report on Syria focused on several patterns of violations, including enforced-disappearance, torture, arbitrary arrest, detention center conditions, freedom of expression, internal displacement, protection of refugees, sexual violence, and human trafficking among other multiple violations of basic civil rights.

The report clearly exposes the Syrian regime’s responsibility for the overwhelming majority of violations in terms of scale and quantity. The report also sheds light on the terrorist group ISIS’s responsibility for various and wide patterns of violations.
