SNHR briefed the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary disappearances, of the case of Eng. Khaled Taha civil engineer and government employee in Damascus International Airport from Damascus city, age 42 at the time, and asked to request of the Syrian authorities to release him, as he was arrested arbitrarily from his place of work by air-force security forces of the Syrian Authorities in October 10, 2012, without showing a warrant entitles them to arrest him, the military security members were wearing military outfits.

He was transported to Air-force security branch in Mazza Airport his family applied several complaints without being able to determine his fate in September 14, 2014 he was seen in Saydnaya prison of the government forces by a released detainee who informed his family, and they had no news on his whereabouts after that, as his fate remain unknown for his family and the Syrian Network for Human Rights as well.

Syrian authorities deny enforcing Eng. Khaled Taha to disappear, SNHR were unable to determine his fate until now, as is his family, and they are afraid of detention and torture in the event of repeating questions about him, as happened with many similar cases.
SNHR demanded the United Nations Committee on Enforced Disappearance to intervene with the Syrian authorities for his immediate release, and the release of thousands of cases of enforced disappearances and the need to determine their fate.
