The Hague – Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR):

In April 2024, the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) released a report entitled, ‘Country Guidance: Syria – common analysis and guidance note’.

The report is primarily intended to serve as an instrument for policymakers and decision makers in regard to the Common European Asylum System (CEAS). To that end, the report is intended to assist in the process of assessing applications from Syrians for international protection, and to promote a more consistent and uniform decision-making practices among EU states. The report covers the period between August 1, 2022, and November 23, 2023.

The report draws upon various human rights sources. Most prominent among these (ordered by the number of times they were cited) are:

UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA): 40 times.

Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR): 20 times.

The report also cites various other sources, including the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic (COI), the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugee (UNRWA), the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), UNICEF, and the Violation Documentation Center.
