The Syrian Network for Human Rights has notified the United Nations Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions of the case of the college student, Mohammad Nizar Abu Amr, from al Raml al Janoubi area in Latakia city. Mohammad, born in 1985, was arrested on August 2, 2012, by Syrian Regime forces in a raid on his father’s shop in al Raml al Janoubi area. On February 1, 2014, Mohammad’s mother visited the Military Police Branch in al Qaboun neighbourhood, northeast of Damascus city, where she was given a death certificate stating that Mohammad died at the Tishreen Military Hospital in Damascus city on July 13, 2013, as a result of a heart attack (or stroke). In 2016, his family identified his body in one of the photos that had been leaked by a dissident officer of Syrian Regime forces, known as Caesar in March 2015.
